There are a variety of non-surgical treatments for carpal tunnel syndrome, though if conservative treatments are not successful, surgery may be required.
Traditional carpal tunnel release, called open release surgery, is one of the most common procedures physicians perform to resolve this condition. In this procedure, Dr. Orlando makes a small incision in the wrist and then cuts the carpal ligament to enlarge the carpal tunnel, thereby reducing the nerve pressure that had been causing the patient pain. The procedure is generally done under local anesthesia on an outpatient basis.
If you are suffering from carpal tunnel, make an appointment with the surgeon for an evaluation to see if you are a candidate for a carpal tunnel release surgery.
